"The Chicago-based dark metal band URN (U.S.) is one on a musical journey exploring the darker aspects of both the conscious mind and the unconscious soul. The band has been captivating audiences across multiple genres and have been establishing themselves as one the more energetic live acts to see. The band cites influences from artists such as Type O Negative, Lacuna Coil, Amorphis, Nightwish, My Dying Bride and many similar acts that tend to find a certain beauty in darkness. URNs line-up is consisted of well-traveled veterans of various national acts. The band released the Desecrated Ashes EP in 2003 and was met with great success and acclaim. The album received strong airplay support in Mexico and Canada in addition to the United States and has also done a several simulcasts with internet radio stations such as IPM Radio and Metal Works Radio. As a result, URN toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada and in the process shared the stage with honored acts such as the Dayglo Abortions, Seraphim Shock, Bile, Bella Morte, Novembers Doom, The Dave Brockie Experience, The Cruxshadows and many notable others. The band has also appeared at many conventions throughout North America such as Ancient Ways in Chicago, KiNvention North in Toronto, Endless Nights in New Orleans, Radio Active in Detroit, GenCon in Indianapolis and the Long Black Veil in New York. URN has through their ongoing collaborations with artists of other mediums such as Michelle Belanger, noted author of the Psychic Vampire Codex and actor Don Henrie of Sci-Fi Channels Mad, Mad House was able to get their music to appear in television programs such as A&E Biographys The Secret Life of Vampires and has been scouted by the Sci-Fi Channel for potential programs.
