Metaphysical Common Sense
Disclaimer: This is a compilation of my observations
and thoughts from my wanderings based mostly on my opinion so take from
it what you will.
Okay...general common sense is lacking in the world
-- true, but the lack of common sense makes it a lot more complex when
one deals with the metaphysical aspect of life. One devoid of common sense
when dealing with the metaphysical world tends to cause a lot more ripples
in the lives of others as usually another (if not more parties) are involved.
Granted it doesn't always happen that way but the potential is there.
A lack of common sense is a lack of regard for rules and consequences.
There are different types of people that have a
momentary lapse in common sense when dealing with the metaphysical: those
looking for easy answers, dabblers, lemmings, and the emotionally driven.
Easy Answer Seekers
Those that look for easy answers are somewhat in danger of letting a lack
of common sense harm themselves more than others. Not that they can't
bring others harm but they're not very likely to get very far. However
there's always the occasional non-typical case that surprise outside observers.
At times I've seen people just grasping at anything and everything said
or told to them as the absolute sole truth -- never exploring all options
or considering that some people could be wrong. This hurts self growth
most of all as the individual will not learn or grow into their own and
become dependent on others or easy access reference materials.
The metaphysical path is not for for everyone nor
those looking for a quick fix...it's a life long exploration of oneself.
The path is long and harsh sometimes but in the end those that plug on
with it gain a better understanding of life in many perspectives.
Dabblers
Those that dabble are moderately in danger to themselves and others by
not having common sense when dealing with the metaphysical. They may have
enough understanding to make things work, but they often don't truly consider
the pros and cons of their actions. Most cases I've seen in my wanderings
is those that want to work spells or other types of energy work just to
see if they can do it without paying much heed to the cautionary advice
given before working on them. So then later you find these individuals
hunting down someone that knows how to reverse or do damage control over
what they did, which is currently causing their life to be a mess in some
form or fashion. Most of the time their dabbling bites them in the rear,
however it just as equally catches an innocent bystander.
Just because you can do something doesn't always
mean you should... Especially if you're not willing to consider all the
pros and cons to your actions and how it'll affect you or others. Play
with fire and get burned.
Lemmings
Those that act like lemmings range from moderately dangerous to highly
to themselves and others -- simply because they're just playing "follow
the leader" and it's dependent on how level minded the leader they're
following is in determining how much trouble they cause. The main danger
is that those willing to follow another blindly won't consider any sort
of personal or general ethics in what they do or how their actions affect
others -- they just do as they're told. This lack of individuality makes
it harder for them to realize that they are their own person and are capable
of accomplishing so much on their own. They only grow as much as their
"guide" allows them to and never surpass or never realize their
own potential. Because of their lemming like mindset they are more than
agreeable about causing harm so long as their trusted "guide"
says it's okay. They occasionally appear looking for others to help them
resolve their conflict of current actions...however usually that ends
up as just latching onto another individual to follow.
It's good to find those that have something in
common with you and that will help guide and teach you, but one should
never forget their individuality or uniqueness. To grow you have to learn
about yourself in many aspects and losing yourself to blindly try and
be like another hinders that opportunity.
Emotionally Driven
Those emotionally driven are highly in danger to themselves and others
when they let that lapse of common sense go when dealing with the metaphysical.
Now granted emotion can be good for certain things, but like a double
edged sword what can be used to benefit the individual it can also harm
them. These individuals are the type that are prone to act on sheer emotion
alone with little next to no regard for how their actions can be potentially
damaging to themselves or another. Most of the time you'll see them work
love spells or curses almost at the drop of a hat. Their reasoning is
cause they strongly feel (in case of a love spell) that the person of
their affections is the absolute one and that they MUST love them back...it's
supposed to happen anyway and they're just helping things along. Or (in
case of a curse) they feel so angry and wronged that the one who wronged
them must pay a harsh punishment of some sort and take things to extremes.
Later on they find out they made a mistake in being rash and are stuck
with someone that loves them but they don't love them or are receiving
a lot of bad karma from reacting harshly to what usually turns out to
be an unconscious slight towards them.
Using emotion to add extra strength to a working
is good but it shouldn't be done when blinded by emotions. Oftentimes
when one is hasty with decisions they realize that there were a lot of
better and much more favorable options when it's too late.
Overall Lesson -- Learn to think for yourself and
exercise common sense.
